Buffalo Soldiers National Museum Presents a PBS Premiere Broadcast Taping of the Hall of Fame Awards at the Wortham Center, Cullen Theater

Houston, Texas-Sunday, April 5, 2009, The Buffalo Soldiers National Museum (BSNM), a non-profit organization, along with Honorary Chairperson Houston City Councilmember Ronald Green and the Honorable Hilary Green will host a PBS Premiere Broadcast Taping of the Hall of Fame Awards at Cullen Theater at Wortham Center located at 501 Texas Ave, Houston, Texas 77002. The live broadcast will begin at 6.00p.m. Doors will open at 5:00p.m. The taping is open to the Public. The tickets are $25.00 each. .

The Hall of Fame Awards is video documentary that will be hosted by Tracye McDaniel and Jose Grinan. This documentary is slated to air on the local PBS station. This project is designed to educate others in the history and the significant contributions of the Buffalo Soldiers both past and present in the pursuit of this nation’s greatness. This project will also honor our current American citizens and Humanitarians who have made positive and heroic contributions in America and Humanity at large. Captain P. J. Matthews states, “This is an excellent opportunity to award citizens that we feel that have met the high standards and qualifications in their various areas of expertise.”

On this night, the following persons will receive the Buffalo Soldier Museum Hall of Fame Award: Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee; Dr. Joseph C Gathe, Board Certified, Infectious Diseases Specialist; Abner Haynes – Football Hall of Famer and Kyle and Lauren Anderson Turner, Legendary Jazz Artist and Principle dancer for the Houston Ballet. Musical guest will include: National Recording Artist-Marion Meadows, Houston’s Own Jazz Saxophonist-Kyle Turner, 13 year old phenomenal singer-Russia Bimiage, Local singing group-Soul Fruit and local Gospel Group-Tammy Bishop Ministries.
